Ibtihal is a CARA postdoc fellow. Her research interests are related to racism, minorities in higher education, and Islamophobia. She uses Critical Race Theory and Postcolonial perspectives.
Her current research examines the experiences of Muslim academics, in AHSS disciplines, at UK universities in relation to DCM and the study of Muslim and Islam within British universities which continues to be impacted by the old orientalist tropes and is currently tainted by ‘War on Terror’ political rhetoric.
Ibtihal is currently a member of the steering group of Ad-HE project on Tackling racism on Campus.
