The challenges of ageing must be faced by the young, according to Transforming the Future of Ageing, published today by Science Advice for Policy by European Academies (SAPEA) and led by the Federation of European Academies of Medicine.
The authors of the report were leading scientists from across Europe, including Dr Alan Gow, a founding member of YAS and a psychologist specialising in brain health and cognitive aging.
The report is destined for the desks of the new European Commissioners expected to take office later in 2019. It reviews the best evidence on what public policies might help EU countries to achieve inclusive, fair and sustainable health and social care in the future.
Both the full report and a short summary version are available via the SAPEA website.
