New programme brings together MSPs and young researchers and professionals to promote evidence-based policy solutions

A group of young researchers and professionals will enter Holyrood today as part of a new pairing scheme which encourages constructive relationships between policymakers and emerging leaders from across Scotland’s academic and professional domains.

Young Academies of Europe release position statements on Open Data and Open Access

The Young Academies of Europe and the Global Young Academy have released two statements concerning Open Data and Open Access.

Representing the Young Academy of Scotland, Ian Overton, co-lead of the Open Data Working Group contributed to both these statements.  They will be presented to the European Commission on Monday, 4 April 2016, at the Open Science Conference in Amsterdam.

Rewriting the Headlines

Our blog, Research the Headlines, is delighted to announce that is received funding from the British Academy to carry out an exciting new project from now until March 2016. The 'Rewrite the Headlines' competition will aim to "raise awareness of, and engage young people in, the critical consumption of research that may impact their lives."
