Victoria Loughlan is Head of Performance Team for the Scottish Government. She designs and delivers interactive and visual ‘big picture thinking’ sessions for senior officials. These sessions focus on addressing key policy challenges, teasing out their interdependencies, and situating them in their global context.

Previously, Victoria worked in the Strategy Unit of Scottish Government on horizon scanning. She holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh. Her research background and teaching focused on technology and international peace and security matters. She has an interest in ‘big picture thinking’ methodologies, specifically as they relate to understanding complex systems and the critical challenges of the 21st century.

Daniela is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Social Work & Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde. Trained as a primary school teacher in Romania, Daniela’s research work focuses on the experiences of marginalised groups and issues of social justice, including approaches to tackling child poverty and minimising its impact on children's opportunities; children as service users and their involvement in consultation; multi-agency working; migration and its impact on children and inclusion of ethnic minority groups (especially Roma and Gypsy Travellers).
