Victoria Loughlan

Victoria Loughlan is Head of Performance Team for the Scottish Government. She designs and delivers interactive and visual ‘big picture thinking’ sessions for senior officials. These sessions focus on addressing key policy challenges, teasing out their interdependencies, and situating them in their global context.

Previously, Victoria worked in the Strategy Unit of Scottish Government on horizon scanning. She holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh. Her research background and teaching focused on technology and international peace and security matters. She has an interest in ‘big picture thinking’ methodologies, specifically as they relate to understanding complex systems and the critical challenges of the 21st century.

Andrew has over 15 years working with young children: as a teacher, academic, start-up director, and, more recently, parent. His research examines the role of interaction in cognition, and the implications for early learning and new forms of technology. He is also interested in computing education for children in the early years.
