Subramanian Ramamoorthy

Subramanian Ramamoorthy is a Reader in Robotics at The University of Edinburgh. He received a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. Previously, he was a Staff Engineer with National Instruments Corp. The focus of his research is the development of autonomous robots and other learning agents that can intelligently function in dynamic environments, including interactions with other agents and people. He leads Team Edinferno, the first UK entry in the Standard Platform League at RoboCup. This work has resulted in numerous public engagement activities, such as at the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition.

Mark is a lecturer in chemistry at the University of Glasgow, specialising in finding sustainable ways to produce fuels and remove pollutants from the environment. As part of his research, Mark co-invented a new type of water electrolyser, which is being spun out from the University of Glasgow.
