Bio

Rebecca is a teacher of physics at St George's School for Girls in Edinburgh. She actively promotes STEM engagement through pupil-led research projects, digital exchanges, after-school clubs and outreach events, and is passionate about getting more girls interested in physics and engineering. As part of the programme 'Researchers in Schools' Rebecca completed a secondment to the Department for Education, where she authored a report on the retention and recruitment of STEM teachers worldwide.

Prior to teaching, Rebecca was a post-doctoral fellow in biophysics at Karolinska Institute in Sweden. She was educated at the Universities of Edinburgh, Oxford and Glasgow, and was a visiting researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research interests have included radiocarbon dating offsets, microrheology and cochlear mechanics.

Dr Megan Coyer is a Lecturer in English Literature and Deputy Director of the Medical Humanities Research Centre at the University of Glasgow, where she convenes the Intercalated BSc in Medical Humanities. She specialises in nineteenth-century literature and medical culture, with a particular interest in the Scottish context.
