Rebecca Sutton is a Senior Lecturer in International Law at the University of Glasgow, where she is a Co-Investigator of the FCDO-funded Beyond Compliance Consortium. Previously, Sutton held a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, and post-docs at the European University Institute and McGill University. She earned a PhD in Law from the London School of Economics, a JD from the University of Toronto, and an MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from SOAS, University of London. Her first book, The Humanitarian Civilian, was published by OUP in 2021. Sutton has worked or conducted research in Darfur, Sudan; South Sudan; South Africa; Central African Republic; Ghana; Northern India; Thailand and Indonesia.
