Dr Rachel Myles is a Wellcome Trust Intermediate Fellow and Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Infirmary and Golden Jubilee National Hospitals in Glasgow. Rachel trained in Medicine at the University of Oxford and King’s College London before moving back to Scotland to train in cardiology. She completed a PhD in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Glasgow in 2009 and a post-doctoral scholarship at the University of California, Davis in 2011. On her return to Glasgow Rachel started her own research group and now divides her time between clinical practice in heart rhythm disorders and pre-clinical research into the arrhythmias responsible for sudden cardiac death across a range of pathologies.
