Bio

Paul Brennan is a Clinical Lecturer in Neurosurgery based in Edinburgh at the Western General Hospital and the University of Edinburgh. He combines his clinical practice with basic science and clinical research.

After graduating in medicine from Edinburgh and Cambridge Universities he undertook his basic and higher surgical training in Edinburgh and Aberdeen. His PhD studies at the Institute for Genetics and Molecular Medicine, Edinburgh, interrogated the origins of the most common human brain tumour, gliomas, which remains the focus of his research group. He helps coordinate clinical research in the UK with the British Neurosurgical Trainee Research Collaborative.

Vicky is Senior Lecturer in Health History at Glasgow Caledonian University and Deputy Director of the cross-institutional Centre for the Social History of Health and Healthcare. Awarded a PhD at Warwick University in 2004, her research examines the role of different organisations in the formation of healthcare policy and practice, and is driven by contemporary debates.
