Patrick is Head of Enterprise & Innovation at the University of Edinburgh’s Earth Initiative. He is working to scale the impact of the University’s interdisciplinary work at the interface of climate change, data and A.I. through programmes and partnerships with industry and government, as well as through entrepreneurship and investment.
Inspired by his grandma, Patrick is driven by making the world a better place. He is particularly interested in how the intersection of academia, government and industry can unlock positive impact and economic development in society.
He previously started his own cyber-security company between Edinburgh and New York, worked in the Scottish and Westminster parliaments and served as President of Edinburgh University Students’ Association. He is also Chair of his trade union’s branch and regularly engages in political campaigning.
