Dr Nour Ghadban is a Research Assistant in Biomedical Engineering at University of Glasgow, where she leads projects focused on optimizing wellness and responsible AI, addressing gender disparities in vital signs monitoring through radar and machine learning. She earned her Ph.D. in Multi-modal Speech Recognition Systems from Tishreen University, Syria, and has been recognized as a Cara Fellow. Her accolades include the UK Global Talent program, Women in Science Chair, and L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women In Science Award.
Her research experience encompasses audio-visual speech recognition, AI applications in healthcare, and responsible AI. She was a Lecturer at Tishreen University. She contributes significantly to IEEE journals and conferences. Dr Ghadban is also an active volunteer, serving as a translator for ESOL, a media member of IEEE UK and Ireland WIE, and a mentor in the Women’s Engineering Society’s Mentor SET Programme. She is dedicated to promoting gender equality in STEM and mentoring women in scientific careers.
