Dr. Mhairi Towler is the founder and Director of Vivomotion (www.vivomotion.co.uk), a multi-award winning animation production company based in Dundee. The company offers a service of bespoke animations for scientific communication as well as training courses on the visual presentation of science.

Mhairi has a degree in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Dundee. She was a Wellcome Trust Fellow at The University of California San Francisco and did further postdoctoral work at The University of Dundee.  While working as a scientist she became involved in several Sciart projects, collaborating with artists. This inspired her to change career and become a scientific visualisation practitioner. In order to pursue this goal she carried out a Masters in Animation & Visualisation at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2012.

Using her new knowledge of the business world, Mhairi wishes to contribute to the growth of the Scottish economy by nurturing an entrepreneurial spirit in school pupils and students.
