Mhairi Stewart is the Joint Head of the Berlin School of Public Engagement, and Deputy Head of the Public Engagement and Impact Unit in the Berlin Natural History Museum. Mhairi has a background as a senior Public Engagement professional in academia, leading institutional embedding of engagement, and delivering training and strategic support to colleagues globally. Her work focuses on International Public Engagement delivery, policy, strategic development, and research, bringing the public, academia, industry and policy makers into productive dialogues for mutual benefit. She undertakes interdisciplinary research on the boundaries of current engagement theory and practice, evidencing the value of engagement to institutions and research individuals as well as audiences.
Mhairi was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2022.
