Professor Lesley McMillan is Professor of Criminology and Sociology and Theme Lead for Violence, Crime and Justice Research at Glasgow Caledonian University. She is Associate Director of the Scottish Institute for Policing Research where she leads the Public Protection Network and Associate Director of the Centre for Research in Families and Relationships at the University of Edinburgh. Her research focusses largely on rape and sexual assault, with a particular interest in the criminal justice system. She is also a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) registered counsellor working on a voluntary basis in an NHS service.

Victoria Loughlan is a Head of Performance Team for the Scottish Government. She designs and delivers interactive and visual ‘big picture thinking’ sessions for senior officials. These sessions focus on addressing key policy challenges, teasing out their interdependencies, and situating them in their global context.
