Dr Leslie Mabon is a Reader in Environment and Society at Robert Gordon University. His research focuses on governing complex environmental issues, where what is scientifically and technically appropriate has to be balanced with social and cultural considerations. Leslie works in three main areas: climate change adaptation and cities, especially in east- and south-east Asia; socio-cultural effects of environmental change in coastal regions; and just transitions for high-emitting regions. There is a strong empirical aspect to Leslie’s research, and he enjoys collaborating with people from other sectors and academic disciplines to work towards practical outcomes to environmental problems.
