Karen Lorimer

Dr Karen Lorimer is a Senior Research Fellow at Glasgow Caledonian University, Institute for Applied Health Research.  Karen is a medical sociologist and leads the Institute's Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus theme of work.  She specialising in the social and behavioural dimensions of sexual health,  and impact of technology on sexual behaviour and sexual health.

In 2013, Karen became a member of the Global Young Academy, for a period of 4 years.  She is also a member of the British Sociological Association.

She leads the Sexual Health Research Network for the UK (www.sexualhealthnetwork.org.uk), which runs a blog and podcast series.  She is a member of the Vitae Scotland and Northern Ireland hub advisory group.

Margaret is a Chancellor’s fellow and lecturer in pharmacology, haematology and drug discovery at Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences. She trained in biochemistry and pharmacology at the University of Strathclyde and later with the Bristol Platelet Group, University of Bristol, UK.
