Bio

James Chalmers is a senior lecturer in law at the University of Edinburgh, where he teaches criminal law and evidence. He is the author of a number of books in this area, including Criminal Defences and Pleas in Bar of Trial (2006, with Fiona Leverick), Legal Responses to HIV and AIDS (2008) and The New Law of Sexual Offences in Scotland (2010).

His current research is focused on the practice of criminalisation by legislation, and a rational reconstruction of Scottish criminal law in light of comparative and theoretical perspectives.

Chris Dalglish works with cultural heritage as a means of realising a range of social benefits.  In particular, he is interested in the role of cultural heritage in community development.  Chris trained as an archaeologist (MA Hons Glasgow; PhD Glasgow) and has worked in the public, private and academic sectors.
