Jacqueline (Jackie) Maybin is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in the MRC Centre for Reproductive Health at the University of Edinburgh and an Honorary Consultant Gynaecologist at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. She combines clinical practice with research to improve treatments for women with common, debilitating menstrual disorders.
Jackie is interested in the role of hypoxia and inflammation in the breakdown and repair of the womb lining during menstruation and how these pathways can be targeted with medical treatments to limit menstrual blood loss. She is actively involved in medical education and is passionate about public engagement.

She designs and delivers interactive and visual ‘big picture thinking’ sessions for senior officials. These sessions focus on addressing key policy challenges, teasing out their interdependencies, and situating them in their global context.
