Helen is a Marine Ornithology Advisor at NatureScot, Scotland’s nature agency. She specialises in advising on the potential impacts of human activities in Scottish seas and works closely with Scottish Government and other nature agencies. With expertise in marine renewable energy policy, planning and development, her work aims to ensure impacts on protected Scottish seabird populations are minimised as we tackle the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss.
Helen is passionate about gender equity, authentic leadership and remaining solution-focused as we face the nature-climate crisis. She is founding co-lead of the NatureScot Women’s Network; Alumni of the global women in science leadership development program, Homeward Bound; and a certified Climate Reality Leader, trained by former US Vice President Al Gore.
