Harish Nair trained in Pediatrics in Delhi & obtained a PhD in Epidemiology in Edinburgh. He has nearly 15 years of experience in Public Health with a range of institutions- WHO, USAID, Public Health Foundation of India & All India Institute of Medical Sciences. He has been working with the University of Edinburgh since 2010 & he is currently leading several projects on child health. He has a special interest in understanding the role of viral pathogens in childhood pneumonia. For this work he was awarded the Ker Memorial Prize by Edinburgh Infectious Diseases in 2013. He is a regional editor of the Journal of Global Health & member of the Epidemiology Reference Group of the Scottish Immunization Programme. In 2006, he was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the WHO for his contributions to polio eradication & strengthening of routine immunisation in India. He loves travelling, reading & is a foodie.
