Dr Emma Bush is an ecosystem scientist seeking to address fundamental challenges to human society through her research on plant functional ecology and climate adaptation.
Emma’s research is international, inter-disciplinary and covers a range of landscapes and systems. In her current role at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, she co-leads a research programme on nature- and community-based solutions for urban environments. Other research expertise includes the seasonal life cycling of rainforest trees, the ecological impacts of climate change and the sustainable management of natural ecosystems in both temperate and tropical regions.
Emma’s interests and activities recognise (and communicate) the deep connectedness between humans and nature, through the complex ecosystems that we all inhabit.
