Sukla Chatterjee

Sukla Chatterjee is a lecturer in English at the University of Aberdeen. Her primary interest is in writing about catastrophes and conflicts in postcolonial societies and literary cultures and analysing them through discourses on gender, sexuality, class, and power. Her research focuses on theories from the Global South, decoloniality, and literary transnationalism. Before her current position at Aberdeen, Sukla held teaching and research appointments at the universities of Heidelberg, Chicago, Bonn, and Bremen and has been a visiting fellow at St. Petersburg State University.
