Ben works in the energy sector, leading a team of engineers, economists, and data scientists in the UK and overseas. His team delivers innovative projects in partnership with power utilities, with the common goal of increasing the pace and scale of the introduction of renewables to the electricity network, and improving the operational, technical, societal, and economic integration of modern “smart grids”.
Ben finds this work varied and interesting, and it is satisfying to contribute to projects that play a role in the energy transition.
With a young child at home and another on the way, Ben’s spare time usually consists of various action-packed adventures, but he also enjoys football, theatre, reading (crime, politics and history), and enjoying the wild beauty of Scotland’s countryside.
