Allison is the Head of Research Operations at The University of Glasgow. Her role is to work with colleagues in Research and Innovation Services, the Vice Principal’s office, and other University Services to deliver the University’s strategies for research in line with the University’s 2020 vision. She oversees the Research arm of Research and Innovation Services, which includes the Research Policy Team, the Postgraduate Research Service Team, the Research Impact Team, and the Research Communications Team.
Prior to this, she was the Executive Director of the Scottish Universities Life Sciences Alliance, where she worked to promote strategic collaboration between life sciences researchers across Scotland, to ensure the sectors ongoing global competitiveness. She was also the manager of Glasgow Polyomics and the Wellcome Institutional Strategic Support Fund programme for the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences at The University of Glasgow. Allison has over ten years of research experience in infection biology.

She designs and delivers interactive and visual ‘big picture thinking’ sessions for senior officials. These sessions focus on addressing key policy challenges, teasing out their interdependencies, and situating them in their global context.
