Scotland’s games industry is highly innovative and important to the national economy. Scotland is home to over 100 different games companies creating games for mobile, consoles, PC, and virtual reality. Games made in Scotland are also created to benefit people’s lives: companies make games for education, health and wellbeing, and raising awareness of social issues.
Making games involves lots of people, each with different skillsets. There are technical roles that involve producing code, designs, artwork, and sounds for games that people play with on their devices, but making games also needs people who understand business and economics, languages, and society to make sure that a game can be as successful as possible.
