Life Science for Good

18:00-21.30

On the 13th March, members of the Industry Working Group are working with EthosBioUK CIC to host an event with a competitive pitching angle.

"A new movement of entrepreneurs is emerging that value social impact as highly as the bottom line. Can this profit with purpose business model be adopted by companies working in the life sciences sector?

We want to start the discussion and explore how Scotland can nurture socially conscious entrepreneurs with life science business ideas and invite the community to take part.

We also invite start-ups to present and promote their technology with a socially conscious angle. The winner will receive a £500 award."

To register for the event and to find out more details about the pitching competition visit the event page here.

The event will be held at the University of Edinburgh’s Business School Auditorium (29 Buccleuch Pl. Edinburgh EH8 9JS).

I am a palaeontologist and geologist on the faculty of the School of GeoSciences at the University of Edinburgh. I study the anatomy, genealogy, and evolution of dinosaurs and other extinct animals, with the aim of understanding how evolution works over long time scales and how the earth changes over time. I am also a keen communicator of science: I have written several books for kids and adults, appear often on television and radio, and consult regularly with the press.
